Suncrest Homes was founded by and is headed by J. Michael Ruefle, Jr. who has more than 40 years of home construction experience. Formed in 1987 and headquartered in Murrysville, PA, Suncrest Homes has become one of the most prestigious new home construction companies in the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh. It also remodels homes and develops attached and detached single-family new home communities.

With its development partners, Suncrest Homes creates life-style communities that are truly neighborhoods. These communities typically have amenities like pools, club houses, walking trails, lakes, tot lots, play fields and putting greens. Our neighborhoods are designed to meet the life-quality needs of people in all life stages.

Some neighborhoods we have created are: Forest Ridge Manor in Murrysville; The Village of Sarver's Mills in Sarver; Berkeley Square in Monroeville; Buffalo Trails in Buffalo Township; Saunders Farm Estates in Penn Township; and Allegheny Woodlands in Allegheny Township.

Suncrest Homes is a family affair: owned and operated by the father-daughter team of J. Michael Ruefle, President, and Colleen Ruefle-Haley, Vice President, with help from Patricia Ruefle, Colleen's mother. The members of this family have spent nearly their entire careers in home construction

J. Michael Ruefle is a builder who truly understands the construction industry. He started his career more than 40 years ago as an apprentice carpenter. With his hands-on building experience and a business education at Robert Morris University, he was a founding partner in an award-winning remodeling company with 60 employees. In 1987, he left that company to create Suncrest Homes to build custom and semi-custom homes--and an award-winning home-building company.

Colleen Ruefle-Haley has also spent nearly her entire career in the home-building industry and learned the business from the bottom up. She has worked with her dad and been very involved in the home-construction industry since 1980, often being a pioneering woman.

Patricia Ruefle is an interior designer with more than 20 years experience who helps clients develop design schemes and make color selections.

The entire team at Suncrest Homes shares a common belief that their clients are best served when the client, builder and architect/designer work together to ensure a well designed, quality-built home or home remodel. Working together, the Ruefles and all the members of the Suncrest Homes' family combine their talents, skill, expertise and efforts to make the building or remodeling process enjoyable.
